Painting brake calipers- what colour?

Hi folks,

Going to paint my brake calipers on my 2007 GT Blackline (with the 18" teledial wheels). The car colour is Nero Jarama (sort of dark gunmetal grey / black).

I have bought all the bits and bob to do the painting a few months back but never got around to doing it. The paint being Halfords High Temp paint in red. Looking at other DIY threads on caliper painting, I have begun to doubt my choice of red and the colour in which to paint. Other ideas I have currently are Silver / Grey / Black or even yellow?

I was wondering if any of you might offer some advice on which looks might be the best colour?

(I wish I could afford a set of Brembos but unfortunately budget doesn't allow this currently )

Thanks in advance guys

yellow.

With the colour of your car, think it will look good.

A bit different form the standard red that most people (including me) have!

You need a contrast colour, Silver will look good with the car's colour, but not sure if it will give a contrast with the wheels. Red is a bit Chavy (personal opinion).

I would go for red, but yellow is tempting as well. I agree with TOX1C that it should be a contrast color.

I think it would look pretty cool too, but do you think it might look a bit chavvy? I can see yellow's appeal completely but I don't want to be kicking myself after I have done it looking like a Chav

I agree with the Silver- defo gives a contrast to the body but probably not with the wheels. They are pretty shiny. Red is the safe option. But i'm in 2 minds!

My advice dont paint your your calipers red it is not a good look on sliding calipers.
Only 4 pot caliper should be red.

Thanks for your advice. Unfortunately I can't budget for a set of 4 pot Brembos at the minute- so that rules that out.

Just find an Alfa 166 2.5 or 3.0 brembos are standard on them. And a set of 305mil brembo discs (next day brakes) and make some brackets.

Red, if it was a black car yellow would look cool as a complete contrast

It's almost a black car. Just on a sunny day the 'greyness' comes out.

Never thought about white, maybe a bit much though?

I think white might be a bit iffy..............always mucky for starters.

Silver-mmmmmmmm not for me.

Go Yellow!!!!! Then post pics. I'll look at them and then decide whether to do my own.
