My Wizard exhaust part 2

This is as always a perfectly made system from the man himself. It looks great and sounds very good but I would describe this exhaust not for the faint hearted it's pretty loud to be honest. And needs a bit of tweaking which me and Wizard will be doing but this is only a prototype at the moment. But it does sound class going through the tunnel near where I live. Anyway here are the pics.

After fitting this exhaust it was a bit too loud while cruising on the motorway and fair dues to Wizard he made up another one which is just as good as the original for quality of work wise but sounds much much nicer lovely thrum off it on tick over and a high end rasp too when revved. And it only took 20 mins to fit the longest part was jacking the car up.

The man is does a great job

I really like the Mito one he did for me, the uptake on that has not been great, different kind of Alfaowner I think

The down pipes he recently made for one of our workshop customers are a perfect solution to a problem

Great great great

The first pics Damien put up( at the top of the page ) is the first prototype system I made for him, and was way to loud. So i made him another one which he has just fitted, which, he says is just right.
I'm really looking forward to hearing a sound clip to as I havnt heard it either.

So once people have heard it, and if interested, you know where to come

Cheers Damien for being willing to be the first to try it.

No bothers at all man. I'll get them up no problem. Have to say the MKII is perfect for the normal person but Mark one is rediculasly loud and if you like that you'll love it

Ye, it's unbelievably well made and simple to fit. As I said jacking up the car took the longest lol.

The 156 won't ever be in dublin bud It's for cork only. No where to park it in dublin. Come to the meet and you can hear it not a bother and take it for a spin.

alfa 156 1.6 ts

looking forward to hearing it i am looking for something a bit different for mine, but dont want something loud, just a nicer than stock tone...

what sort of price would i be looking at for a back box only? not fussed about a full system, just want a slightly different tone, and as its only a 1.6 i am not looking for any power gains

Sure they wouldn't have put one in the car if it didn't need it. Ya it sounds class, the next I need is a drive by.

It's very nice in the car it is audilble but nothing that turning the stereo up doesn't drown out at all. It has a nice bassy thrum on tick over that the camera didn't pick up on unfortunetly and at around 3.5k revs it goes from bassy to a kinda rapsy noise you hear but not any bit louder which is class. To be fair to it for a catback exhaust with only a back box as a silencer it's very quiet and sounds cool. You can hear the over run too while driving the car which to say the least is addictive. I'll get loads more vids up.

Good, it does sound nice and deep without being boomy, but until I hear it under load can't really comment, must have some trick baffles in there?

Not sure on the baffles to be honest but to be fair to the Wizard man he built that box in no time and sent it out in great time too. It's just shame the first one was mental loud but that was kinda my fault for asking it to be lol.

I'll do a power run with the windows closed and stereo off there during the weekend and upload it for you GD.

The one Damo has now is exactly the same spec as what we tested on a car one Sunday afternoon about 6 weeks ago - I thought it sounded class, nice rasp at high revs, meaningful note on idle without being loud enough to get on anyones nerves. Almost no drone at all when on the move driving steadily. A very very good exhaust, it is all completely designed by Wizard. We also tried the Unicorse style internals which didn't sound great, far too loud. I never heard the shortened box Damo got first, I guess it was just too small to get the noise down.

Interestingly enough I also tried my Unicorse box on a Fiat Coupe 20VT on Saturday afternoon, it sounded lovely but very very quiet, even with no other silencers and a decat pipe. Just goes to show that different engine configurations need different silencer types to get the best from them. Next up will be this TS box on a Mito 1.4 Turbo and see how that sounds, see if we can improve on what we do for them already.

We'll also be tooling up to do these for the 147 & GT 4cyl petrols too.

Dan, any plans to start looking at producing one for the 2.2 Brera?
