JTD Turbo onto a TS engine?

Is this possible? What would be involved?

Can the turbo map from the JTD chip be "pasted" onto the TS engine?

Definitely not. Petrol engines run in very narrow range of air-to-fuel-ratio, while diesels run in very to lean mixture.

But developing a new turbo map is not a big deal for anyone who knows.

You can fit the exhaust manifold from the 1.9 16v JTD engine to the TS head - this fits. The 1.9 16v turbo would not be right for the engine though, you'd have to make an adapter to mount a Garrett T25 or something, and get it remapped or use an additional injector and a piggyback chip.

Oh this has already been tried out. You'll melt the turbo's variable geometry in no time. Exhaust gas temperature on a gasoline engine is much higher than on a diesel engine and that will cause your geometry to melt.

not only that but dervs run massive boost where you will only want 4 or 5 psi through a TS before you pop it, unless you go for uprating interals, lowering compression etc.

then you would want remap to cope or additional injector as said.

I think the JTS has a less restrictive ECU though so they take turbos better without need for map / additional injectors.

I dont know if them two crazy south african's frequent here these days, Cuzz and Turbonutters but they are the guys to speak to, theyve done a few turbo conversions now.

What turbo was used on the special editions of the GTV? Would this be more suitable?

How was the TS engine adapted on the GTV to take the turbo?

Are you talking about after-market conversions or are you getting it confused with the 2.0v6 Turbo?
