Strange Error with Galletto 1260 (ECU Read)

Hi fellas,

out of curiosity i got myself a galletto.
Manly i'd like to read out the stock map and take a look at them.... just curious :rolleyesis:

however as my JTD is booked in for a new gearbox i was willing to give it a shot on the 2.5V6
this one has ME 2.1 (Euro2 Engine in 156).

Now to the Problem
if i try to read out the ECU
i get the following error:

mainly it says i should connect pin 24 on EPROM to Ground... however as you might now there are only 16 PINS on OBDII plug....
alsow it says one should connect PIN3 (OBD) to 12V....

i am confused now...

connecting Pin3 and Pin16 on the OBD connector would do the 2nd (Pin16 == 12V)
but i do not intend to fry the ECU...

could you guys give me a hint?

error message attached

You need to connect PIN 24 on the ECU itself to the ground...

Not OBD pin. Look at ECU, there are 2 big connectors... now you need to find the right connector and then plant a wire on pin 24 and ground it...

And believe me, it is much easier to get original file from the internet than the car itself

guess you don't have a hint where to get such a file...

i suppose it won't be possible to flash the ECU with any file as long as PIN24 is not grounded?

I have a Galletto 1260 clone, and have found it impossible to get a read from the ecu.. takes hours and hours, and after 15min-45min (random) it fails the read as if the ecu times-out. nightmare, cant be bothered.!

I suspect the OBD K+CAN Flashers willl work better.

It works, but first you must set correct settings for COM port in windows... and then you must follow instructions carefully (yes I know, "galletto english" is something special... )

I thought I had the correct port settings, what settings work better?

im at a similar stage, wanting to read and understand the original map but there seems to be many potential errors and faults so i have downloaded an original edc16c39 map to investigate further.
i registered on here to learn more about it and there are some edc16c39 original files on there to learn on, have seen many alfa files in there.

i downloaded some software but winols test version was the only one i succeeded in uploading the map into to open them up.
