Rocker cover powder coating

Has anyone had it done?

How does heat effect it and can markings such as engine maker etc be left in another colour or polished alloy....

Thanks..... pics please

I had a pair of alloy 145 ones done about 3 years ago, in a textured finish, all was good, still looks good now allthough it's not been on the car for about a year.

Tip for you, remove the metal plate from inside the cover before you do it, i think it's the flame trap.

Mine was clogged in sand from the blasting as i'd left it on, less than a tenner for the plate new from the dealers though.

I think it was just a case of right place, right time!
I was thinking about getting mine powder coated, but then came across the one's I have now being sold on Ebay!
I did originally enquire how much it would cost to get the plenum and rocker cover professionally powder coated, if I remember correctly, it was going to cost about 80 quid.

Alfas

Hi,

I did the same to the alloy top twin spark cam cover on my spider!

Came out ok

Haven't had any problem with heat or any thing else.

Word of advise tho!
(make sure you leave the bolts in other wise they will be powder coated over)

Good luck

Andy
