Re: Alfa 159 Headlights!?

i honestly have no idea.

if you wish to do a similar change, you could take the facelifted 156's front end and fit that but you would need front wings, bumper and bonnet as well as lights and grille.

Theyre about the right size so they could be made to fit

Re: Alfa 159 Headlights!?

Best thing you can do with standard 156 headlights is go for the Black GTA look if its an early verson later ones I dont think there is an option.

159 lights available on Fleabay for £150 a side. I was ondering how easy a swap would be too.

Re: Alfa 159 Headlights!?

looking at the link, and reminding myself how and where the lights sit on the 159, i think they would look terrible on the 156.

on the 159 they are sat recessed under the bonnet, and back from the front wing. would not look right at all.

I can confirm that.... even if its possible..... it looks kak!

The light eperature on a 159 is long and squared.... but on a 156... its deeper and rounded.

DONT DO IT>>>>

Re: Alfa 159 Headlights!?

Its not rocket science, they COULD be made to fit and look ok. They would have to be recessed more than that photoshop though and tilted down and turned in a bit. If the scale is right it might be an idea to make the aperture narrower by adding bits below the lightsin the bumper. It would be quite a bit of work but it could be done

Re: Alfa 159 Headlights!?

it could be done, yes, but it would be more work than the 156 facelift, which will give a similar look.

Re: Alfa 159 Headlights!?

wings, bonnet, bumper. grille and lights. job done.

all straight fits, rather than having to cut/move line up the 159 lights.

Re: Alfa 159 Headlights!?

The boot lid, rear lights, rear wings on the facelift are all different too.

So it needs an Ar$e lift as well as a facelift.

IMO the original 156 is a better looking car than the 156 facelift and the 159 anyway.

Think fitting all that lot is more work than modifying the headlampm opening!

Actually its a doddle.
Did the bumper, wings, headlight and bonnet on mine.
Although they were the same pre facelift style and it was easy.
its all bolt on.
Fitting a facelift front end would be just as easy.
I would defo rather do that than cut and shut some 159 lights.
And im no mechanic by the way.
I would say facelifting is 500 times easyer to do.
Just look left for the finnished article.
All in it took me about 4 hours. i would be loads quicker now that i know what im doing.

Re: Alfa 159 Headlights!?

if you are facelifting the 156, its as crespo says, all the bolts etc are in the exact same place.

if you want to chop bits out of your car to try to fit lights from another car, fine, but i dont even know if the light mounting points are anywhere near where the 156's light mounts are.

Re: Alfa 159 Headlights!?

They are not massively different, but if you see the 2 types side by side you will see.

I don't think there is any chance of the earlier lights fitting the later boot lid as they are a different shape.
