Audi style ambient lighting

While giving a cousin a ride, he noted that the inside of my car was really dark and asked the car had audi style ambient red light. This got me thinking as it's a really good idea as long as its subtle!

Found this on ebay

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GENUINE-Audi-A...01125001r26189

but does anyone know of an Alfa equivalent?

Re: Audi style ambient lighting

Yeah, I had those in the Brera, but to be honest, you probably get more ambient light from the glow of the instruments/ stereo/ sat nav/etc etc.
I don't really like the interior to be too highly lit at night time anyway.

Re: Audi style ambient lighting

We have orange ones in the front and rear cabin rooflining and in the trim of the doors and rear passenger compartment in the beemer.

It was one of the things that made us like the car, gives the interior a lovely comforting glow but not too bright.

I'm going to get my headlining retrimmed in alcantara at some point and may look at putting a interior lighting kit in at the same time.

Re: Audi style ambient lighting

Why would you want lights inside the car, when you need to see out as well as possible?

Ambient lighting fitted as standard in 159 and Brera. Works a treat.

Re: Audi style ambient lighting

They are red and they not only look cool but also
helpful if you're looking for some change out of the ashtray
etc and don't want to "spoil the mood" by switching on the main
cabin lights.

They also match the illuminated sills.

Re: Audi style ambient lighting

I quite like the idea of the ambient light, I was in my friends car the other day and it actually felt quite good with the lighting.

have any pics of the Brera or 159 with the ambient lighting ?

Re: Audi style ambient lighting

I think if I decide to do it I'd want to do the front and rear foot wells, center coin tray as well as some sort of down light...............could be a bit OTT though
