convert a 75 ts to carbs?

Ok may be a silly one.... on the basis that i can get 170bhp with standard injection and easy driving in traffic..... but i really want the classic induction roar of a 105 series car but in a cheaper fun weekend blaster.

Like the idea of the v6 sound but also like the unbustable and sweeter handling TS - plus easier for me to do work on it.

just had an email off triggerwheels who sell megajolt kits - ts on megajolt is pretty easy to sort and is also 3d mappable (either throttle pot or map sensor)

You do need to change to a 36-1 trigger wheel though. And make your mind up if you want to run twin spark or single - the ecu can drive both but obviously needs twice the coil packs.

Has anyone on here doen this on the cheap? from what i gather the twin spark is more emissions opposed to performance and can be run with a 'dummy' plug? if any one can advise all the better. single would be cheaper and easier to do but if ts is a big advantage obviously thats the route to go

I've used the MJ software before and is dead easy to use to get it started and can be tweaked on the road with a laptop...

i would look into the realms of megasquirt and throttle bodies but i just happen to have some really good 45's and magard linkages so no extra cost really.

regarding manifold i'm pretty certain i can get some fabricated pretty cheaply.

Re: convert a 75 ts to carbs?

Re twin-plug v single-plug
With a 2 valve/cylinder engine, especially one with large valves, the sparkplug needs to be offset to one side. That then leads to poor or incomplete combustion on the opposite side of the combustion chamber.
To solve that problem, a 2nd plug is fitted to the other side.

I know the bore size in the 75TS isn't overly big, but it is still something to think about.

With a 4 valve/cylinder engine, there is always space in the centre for the sparkplug, so the problem doesn't exist.

just been reading up on the twin spark bit after your post - for sake of a extra coil pack its a no brainer me thinks ;-)

I've got a pair of coil packs taken from a 155 TS if you are interested? They are sat in the drawer beside me!

We've done plenty and stock all the bits (including manifolds).

Email Max at [email protected] and he'll talk you through the costs...
