brake fluid

Hi all, I am fitting new pads soon and bought some brake fluid. The thing is that I have bought 2 different types and wanted to know what is better to use.

ATE Super Blue or DOT5.1?

Many Thanx
Scott

Re: brake fluid

Put the higher spec' one in (5.1..? Dunno about Super Blue) and bleed all 4 calipers until it comes out clear at each corner. Use the other one to flush out the clutch slave circuit.

Re: brake fluid

Standard fluid should be ok for road, unless you have problems with brakes boiling already. I would go with a good quality dot 4 from castrol or Ap.

That would depend on which DOT5.1 fluid you have purchased...

I have ATE Blue in mine at the moment though.

Re: brake fluid

Currently, not even Castrol SRF, which is the best you can buy, is not labeled as DOT 5.1. Brembo LCF 600 and Motul RBF 600 or Motul RBF 660 are labeled DOT 4, so you can pretty much go with the ATE SuperBlue as being better than the generic or branded DOT 5.1.
