Gotta be an oval on a 147.

My GT has a twin and doesn't look half as good as the JTS's letterbox style one.

sorry to jump on the thread here .... but my question powerflow? there are so many mixed reviews...and complanits that they use mild steel weld joints which rust i am really confussed as they seem like good value anyone have any experence with them?

No probs have a look at their site theres all you need to know and even how thy make the parts! i have done a bit of research and looked into loads of known and unknown systems and i found more positve than negative for them but proof is in the pudding and all that - if i had and could justify the price i would go for a Supersprint etc (full system) but this seems the best compromise on a full system which should fit with any mucking around plus a life long warrenty on the car so if it fails its back to the garage! As long as its sound's a little fruity and will look a whole lot better than the rust original then i will be happy...... fairly easily pleased i guess up to a point

Re: Oval or twin?

I used to have a powerflow exhaust on my mx3. Was a noisy bugger by choice, very chavvy of me, great little V6 thou. They are great for tuning the sound, they generally try different silencers and backboxes so you can tune the sound how you like.

I think the exhaust was the only thing not to rust on the mazda lol. Had it 4 years and no complaints from me! My mate religously fits them to every car he's had, saves money in the longrun due to being a lifetime fitment.

The only downside i saw was that the bends are crush bent and not mandrel. Don't lose much I wouldn't have thought, but the exhaust purists might argue otherwise...

Thanks for your input mate its like everything in life no one will ever agree which product is best when theres a choice, i would go for a supersprint etc full system but funds dont allow and i need/want a new one in my slow quest to improve/upgrade bits on the car. I dont fear differing opinions in fact its very helpful as i'm no expert and for that this site is suberb! so cheers

Re: Oval or twin?

I was looking at Powerflows before I got my CSC but all the tailpipes they had were absolutely hideous - what looked OK on the website was actually significantly larger in reality and would have looked horribly out of place on my 156

Oh and twin pipes are way cooler, but we've been over this before and established that I'd rather everyone else prefer ovals because then my car is more special

Re: Oval or twin?

Twin pipes vs Oval - :hmm:

I'd say oval on the 147, even though on the 156 if I had the choice I'd swap my SuperSprint oval for a SuperSprint twin.. Wouldn't swap it for a CSC twin though Nicky, it'd be like going from 2nd in the premier leauge to top of division one..

"122" looks nice, as does "RAiT".. Best of luck, Powerflow in Darlo did my decat pipe and made a good job of it.

Re: Oval or twin?

I had a powerflow on my 147 ts, I went for the oval and it fitted the cutout very well .
I opted for a mid-sport sound and it was ok and not too chavy. Mine was a cat back system with a middle box and a straight through pipe ending with the tail pipe ( no back box)
i was happy with mine and it looked good
