Manifold only?

I have finally found the root of my suspension Knocks. It seems the bracked that supports the 2 pre-cats on my manifold has gone leaving only 2 tiny stubs.

I have a few options:

Weld it
Replace with New Stock Manifold -385 (old one has a bash in one of cats aswell)
Replace with CSC Manifold - 385

I would like to do the latter but is it worth it if the rest of the system is stock? I would hope it would make the 147 more like the 145 was. (better exhaust note and 5 more bhp).

Re: Manifold only?

I would just get the supersprint manifold same price as the CSC but made better IMO

Re: Manifold only?

Can you elaborate more on the suspension knocks? My 166 seems to have a nasty knock from the drivers side, changed the top wishbone, changed the drop link and the bottom ball joint looks fairly new but it still knocks!?

I have notilced that there is a support bar just by the flex parts of the front and rear manifold, V6, that is missing too, it seems to have got worse since I replaced the worn out stabaliser bar and mount?!

Re: Manifold only?

I thought you were talking about the 147 too good to be true...
except if it's possible to fit that in the 147....

Re: Manifold only?

I know man, thank you.. That's the price i usually find in other sites to (even a bit better).. I saw the first 2 posts and i thought 385 was the price for the 753601
I had also found a csc manifold on the italian ebay for 500 but the guy told me that it was for the 147 of 2001 and it won't fit on my 2004 model.. Then i contacted csc to ask the difference between the two manifolds and they replied that they don't make one for the 2004 alfa Has anyone installed a csc on an 147 > 2004 ??? If it needs minor modifications to fit, then i may go for it..

Supersprint @ 539 is not the same price as the CSC @ 385. Considerable price difference.

Paying for the name i suppose.

I think my manifold is starting to leak so could go for the CSC anyway.
