tuning alfa 147 1.9jtd 8v

hi guys, wondering what best mods would be, need some suggestions , an experienced view.

I have it remapped but i think ive jumped the gun a bit.

In terms of value for money what do you think are best mods to go for? I have heard about Q2, Koni fsds ,eibachs, havent heard much about induction kits...what would be the best way to get more bhp?

suspension, koni sport or fsd and eibachs, do the Q2 next.

Someone here has or is fitting a GT2256 to a 1.9 from a 2.4...sounds interesting.

Induction kits do help and so does an uprated intercooler or a charge cooler. With induction and cooler the re-mapping windowwill be extended.

I am fitting a hybrid GT22"56"....on my 8v...as the 16v unit is not sure when it will come, if it comes at all...Italian way...you know.

Before the 21-22 Feb everything has to be in working order for the International Alfa Romeo Track day that we are having in Greece-Serres racing circuit.

BTW anyone from Serbia-Romania and Turkey is most welcome to join us...for more details contact me.

Re: tuning alfa 147 1.9jtd 8v

It is not straigh fit, we did a completlly new exhaust sytem from the turbo to the back, including new free-flow back box.

Also new intercooler pipes were needed for my FMIC, and for the BMC-CDA.

some other minor details and re-works were also needed.

In addition I have to re-work the whole ECU software.

The sound the car makes has nothing to do with e diesel car... :-)

Next week the car has to be 100% ready and I will start a new thread with more details, so keep your eye on the tuning section...around the end of next week.

Alfa 147 QVD 300hp by BlackAngels, Alfa 159 2.4 QVD, Alfa 159 TI 1.9 QVD and Crosswagon edition Nero, Alfa Stelvio 2.2 Q4

I have found a leak today on the pipe from the turbo to the intercooler...so have to fix that.

Also a new remap is going tomorrow in the car for the first tests...

The sound is actually getting on the bad side....and it is mostly due to the back box which is not a straight pipe...

..I will change that back box...as I don't like the car that way.

The sound is bad only at normal driving....if you push her the sound is really nice....I will try to record that tomorrow.

I did try to record it with my cell phone, but....I have to do a proper one with the video cam.

The sound is very good while floring the car, but in normal driving it drives me crazy...so I will keep it till the end of the month for the Alfisti Track day and then I will rework the exhaust system.

CDA isn't the best solution for the Turbo Diesels.

Not possible to fit the CDA straight and not short enough.

In my case I have removed the SMIC and I have fitted a FMIC...so there is more then enough space to fit the CDA straight.

From what we tested the CDA flows a lot more air then the factory intake and it also comes in a box, so we don't have to worry about heat isolation.

BUT If the factory intercooler has to stay, you are right there is not enough space.

In terms of air-filter what are you suggesting?

I have designed a fairly short and straight silcone hose that has a spout integrated for the AFM with a twin cone filter, which we found much better flowing than the CDA. At the location the filter sits we have not experienced any heat soak problems.

Re: tuning alfa 147 1.9jtd 8v

Hi, i play with the GT2252V, i want to make the compressor side on my gt1749V. i want to break the 200PS too..so 201 would be enought
because in germany somebody have made an KKK on his car and have crash his engine with a little more over 200PS.
So how many Torque you got with your engine kg b?
have you the 115PS too or which do u have?

Greetings and "Leker veger"

Re: tuning alfa 147 1.9jtd 8v

i have look for an other sensor fr turbo bressure because the normal sensor makes only 2,5 bar absolut pressure, so this are 1,5 bar relative.
my car is sometime over 1,5bar and he alert a foult.
but nobody answer here with questions with this question
many VW TDI drivers with make an other sensor in his car to messure 3bar absolut and 2 bar relative.

greets

Re: tuning alfa 147 1.9jtd 8v

use a sensor off a 16v or 20v, its 3bar rather than 2.5 bar.

There are enough threads covering this, and the wiring/plugs needed also.

Re: tuning alfa 147 1.9jtd 8v

hi
so whats happen when u only put the sensor in the car.
so theoretic he must boost more bar, but whats happens practic?
because with the old sensor he meassure 2,5 bar with 4,75 volt and the other have 4,75 volt 3 bar so will the electronic put the preasure higher?
so all theoretic,

greets Mordi

Re: tuning alfa 147 1.9jtd 8v

you'll need a remap to get the best from it, but beware, these small housing vnt's don't last long at 30psi!!!
