Lightened flywheel

A lot of people have raved about the effects of a lightened flywheel. Thing is, I dont need a clutch, it was only changed 13k ago. Is it possible / or is there any point in doing it without the clutch as well? Any idea of labour times involved?

Re: Lightened flywheel

You have a dual-mass flywheel in your 3.0V6 GTV.
So you would need to replace that with a single-mass version.
Simplest would probably be the flywheel (plus a small plate) & clutch from a 3.2V6 GTV.

It is a lot of work though and you would be throwing your recently new clutch away.

Oh well cheers DC thats answered my question anyhow. I guess its a job for when the clutch gets done.... wish i'd known about it at the time of the clutch job, seems to be one of those mods that absolutely everyone who has done it (on the V6 GTV anyway) universally raves about. Never mind...

Re: Lightened flywheel

The Alfa V6 is externally balanced too, be carefull which flywheel you use, or have lightened because the balance factor will have to be re applied... mine did at the cost of £400! but mine is slightly different to all you FWD guys
