Re: alfa gt jtd tuning chips

I'm would always be a little cautious when buying things like this off ebay. My advice would be go down and a propper remap on a rolling road as I did

Re: alfa gt jtd tuning chips

I brought A "TDI Tuning" one in march. Had no probs, its been great, loads of xtra performance and about 3-4 mpg better according to the trip computer. Remaps are best and I ll get one done when I can afford it, but if you get a good one tuning boxes are ok. I had one before on my 156 2.4 with no probs either.

I have a tdi tuning one as well. It's pretty good, better than could be expected for £100.

No, the remap is twice to three times the ebay price.

End of jan sort of time I think. That one is in London which is quite a treck but well worth it.

I think the north west boys are looking at one more local too.

Hey, do you still have this box? Is it running ok?

Mines been running a bit rich and clogged up the rgr / manifold loads

anyone know the default setting for the dial? I.e. How many turns of the screw.

Yeah, still have it-it was the one I was talking about on the other thread!

Meant to say as well, when you mentioned the EGR cloging up on that other thread, That I dont really think you can blame the clogging on the tunning box. EGRs clog up anyway, tuning box, remap or standard.

Is yours a TDI Tuning one then? Think default is with the screw in the middle.

Yah the garage said it was the most clogged they gad ever seen.

Mines going back to get checked, as it doesn't seem to be working.

But it will be going back on soon, I tell ya what the car has never run better since egr valve etc has been cleaned, so when boxes is working it should bd sweet, I had been running it a little up on power so was prob overfueling to much.

What I could do with knowng is how many turns is it back to zeo setting.

It should be in the middle, I didnt think it turned more than 180 deg...

Its common for the EGRs to break on these engines as well.

True

It does turn more than 180, I think I have fiddled to far one way, I'll have a play. It must be working as. Put it back on and wow it's rapid through 1-4 but then in 5 & 6 higher revs it's got a flat spot.

Oh, not sure then. You could try taking it off and seeing how far it will turn?

Do you get a flat spot or is it good up the rev range in 5th & 6th?

Great all through the re range, you need to change the filter really, before you start turning it up too much, otherwise it ll just over fuel-you need to give it more air to burn the extra fuel.
