-50mm Eibachs + 18in MOMOs!

Just ordered my 18in MOMO Thunder silvers.

Got my -50mm Eibach springs under my desk waiting to go on next week.

Anybody else got this combo?

Thinking of 215/40 Marangoni tyres? (keeping it all Italian, like!).

Re: -50mm Eibachs + 18in MOMOs!

Emm rubbing might be an issue and maybe a skinnier tyre might be needed as my car at the back is lowered 50mm and it rubbed badly with 55 profile tyres and now its fine with 50's.

Parada Spec II's are what you want fine tyre or if your rich get Bridgestone RE050A's. Demon Tweek's for the parads there seriously cheap there.

Haven't had Vredesteins since my MKII Escort RS2000 days lol!

Marangoni have just done an Alfa MITO project car, so they get two thumbs fresh from me!

Vredesteins are a seriously underrated tyre, good in the wet & quiet, Bridgestone noisy as hell

-50mm ? Your 156 will be very low, too much.
Is it a Sportline Eibach kit? And with 18" your car will be inconfortable

The best is Eibach Pro-kit and 17" Alfa nice looking and confortable

Re: -50mm Eibachs + 18in MOMOs!

I'd say 50mm is too low, although removing coilovers and fitting Eibach Pro Springs has just RAISED my car around 35mm, which means it was roundabout 65mm lower to begin with..

Re: -50mm Eibachs + 18in MOMOs!

Mines a different Car, but my 147 is on 8x18", ET28, With 215/35/18 Yoko Pradas and iv not got any Rubbing issues now!

When i had my 225/40/18 i Had really bad Rubbing Issues...

So when i got my smaller tyres the 1st thing i did was Drop it all the way to 65mm!

You not have to get the geometry set up again on the suspension when dropping it again Ad?

Re: -50mm Eibachs + 18in MOMOs!

Don't forget, deflection vs camber isn't linear; so if you don't at least try to reduce the camber a little, you'll have huge amounts ever time the suspension deflects (which is why you can ends up with bags of tramlining )

Well that can't be adjusted, without raising the ride height. You'll just have to live with it. Make sure the toe settings are right though.

Can you not get adjustable top bearing mounts?

Not that I know of, but even when I was -65mm the negative camber wasn't terrible. The turn in is phenomenal!

Re: -50mm Eibachs + 18in MOMOs!

Thanks for the replies gents,
Springs are still sitting under my desk at work!
Fitting the -50mm springs and 18-inch alloys is purely cosmetical.
I'm fully aware that I'll accelerate slower (larger rolling radius), but I should cruise better and look a tad dapper in the process
As for set up, Elite in Rainham do a full suspension geometery set up for about 120, which I've heard is well worth it, plus, a bit of negative camber never hurt anyone
Cheers,
Steve
