New cone filter too quiet!

Fitted a performance cone filter to the end of the MAF pipe on the weekend and...

Induction note has hardly changed...

I was expecting a bit of a cheeky growl under load, but even with the window down, you can hardly hear it.

Boo!

I'm an only child, so if i want induction roar, I expect it

Maybe if I mount it inside the original air box, I'll get a bit more resonance from the extra plastic piping?

Hehe, yeah, I remember reading your post about the missus not liking it!

It's a Wolfrace jobbie. Hard, black woven filter.

There's no 'sucking' sound at all when you blip the throttle.

Wierd...

More noise , better, snappier throttle response especially < 3000rpm.

But you said you have a filter on your MAF?? so you can't do this mod as the GTA intake replaces the current intake/resonator setup which goes to the airbox.

Re: New cone filter too quiet!

Right then,

Gave it some 2nd gear welly up one of Bath's many mile long hills... and no real increase in induction roar over standard.

So, my filter might not be as sporty as the box says, and I might need the extra resonance from the GTA mod?

Do I order it from Alfa? And is it really only about £20?

As well as the GTA Intake............ You need to buy the fixings to secure it to the chassis properly. In all there are 5 bit's. I recently bought them hoping I could fit it to my GTV but it's a different set up........ Cost me £23.00 for the lot.............. If you are interested you can have the lot for £15.00

Cheers to All
