2.4JTD re-map

Hi everyone I'm new here & have just bought myself a MY06 2.4JTD Brera which frankly causes a commotion in my trousers every time I walk past it !!
It's had the 210 map loaded onto it, but I was wondering if there was any more power to be had out of it this way. I'm a bit dubious about these 'tuning box' things so would be more interested in a dedicated re-map. I'd be looking for an increase in power obviously, but my main concerns would be the safety of the engine internals, gearbox, etc & also an increase in driveability & possibly fuel consumption. Can anyone recommend a firm that specialises in this sort of thing ? Also I'd be interested to hear of anyone else with this particular engine who's had it remapped. Thanks in advance

Re: 2.4JTD re-map

Autolusso in the UK have 2 STEINBAUER tuning boxes available for the 1.9 & 2.4 diesels that cover warranty aswell which is a bonus.
No mention specifically of them doing to it a Brera, but the 2.4JTD is mentioned

Re: 2.4JTD re-map

I had mine remapped by Red Dot and the difference is amazing, both in acceleration and mid range torgue. They boosted it from 206 (210bhp rated) to nearly 250bhp. I don't think it did much for the fuel consumption as it averaged around 29-30mpg while I owned it. I did note that the onboard computer was always hopelessly optimistic with claims of around 37mpg..

However, for around 250 quid it is a great tweak. They are also very nice people at Red Dot..

Unfortunately, I had to let the Brera go when my company failed but it was a great car to drive...

Re: 2.4JTD re-map

The dedicated remapping sounds like a better option, how long does the job take to do ? I notice Red Dot are based in Watford & I live in West Yorks. so it'd be a full day out. Does it take long to book an appointment with them ?

Stay away from tuning boxes!!!

Go for Red dot already mentioned or you can also call AlfaTuner.

I had my 159ti remaped at alfatune St helens it goes like it should now and has completly transformed the car, smoother even quicker and doesn't sound like tractor when started first thing in the morning. it went into the dealer for its first service on tuesday and a "cluncking noise" (that turned out to be a loose engine under tray) When the mechanic got back off road test, he knew straight away and asked where i had got it done, said he drives them all the time and the Ti was the best he had ever driven. hope this helps regards Steve
