LHD 'Lexus' lights on my alfa 147

Hey everyone. I have just one some lights on Ebay for next to nowt only to realise there for a left hand drive car!!

Anyone got any idea whether there's any chance of converting them to right hand drive or whether they are compatible at all.

Here's the ebay link:

ALFA 147 (10.00-11.04) Tail Lights (4 piece set) - Black Lexus-style (Left Hand Drive Only)

These lights are sold as a pair and have the foglight set for Left Hand Drive Vehilcles, they will fit Right Hand Drive Vehicles but some modification to the wiring for the reversing and fog light will be required.

Will ship worldwide but please ask for a shipping quote if you live outside the UK

Re: LHD 'Lexus' lights on my alfa 147

I think my motor will suit some dark lights either as above, or spray tinted original lights.

I know its not to everyones taste but I want something that is abit different but not too chavy.

All opinions welcome although has anyone got any idea if they'll go on my alfa?

Left hand driver rear lights........????

Rear lights dont need to direct towards the curb, Ive never heard of left or right hand drive rears before. Unless they don't include fog lights as some countries dont require them to be legal but apart from that I cant see them being any different.

Could always check with a Alfa parts counter and ask their view on if non UK Alfas had different rear lights

Re: LHD 'Lexus' lights on my alfa 147

How many reversing lights and foglamps does a 147 have?

I was wondering whether there is one reversing light in one cluster and a fog lamp in the other as there is on the 145.

Depending on which side of the road you drive I would have though that the fog lamp would be on the other (driver) side.

Those lights look chav BTW. I am suprised no one has mentioned it yet

We're too polite.. to say that!

The fog is on the right and the reverse is in the left cluster. Same as the picture above

Well thought i'd give them a go (got them for £20 including delivery). All i needed to do wo smash the fog light lense out and pull the bits out. Now the lights look totally symetrical and basically converted by use of a red coloured fog light bulb.

They are different.
147 only have one fog and one reversing light.
On RHD the reversing light is on the left and the fog on the right.
On LHD the fog is on the left and the reversing light on the right.

That is exactly what I thought.

They look better than most lexus lights, but not really my cup of tea.

Don't suit it at all IMHO, but each to their own

I was being diplomatic.

There is nothing wrong with the ones Alfa fitted in the first place. You cannot improve on perfection.

Re: LHD 'Lexus' lights on my alfa 147

I started reading this and LEFT HANDED SCREW DRIVER came to mind

I can see no reason why they would be different but if you don't know better it is a bit like when you send an apprentice off to B&Q for the LH screwdriver.

If they are cheap and you like them get them. A car is for you not the people around you. You can always flog them on if you decide you dont like them
