I also have a novitec maxxair intake, but as I was reading more and more about that it is not good to have it above the heat shield in front of the engine, I relocated the maxxair intake to a place where there is much more cool air.
I took out the pipe and turned it around, so that the little bend is now on the other side.
It is hard to explain what it looks like, I'll definately make pictures of it tonight so it is more clear.
So the pipe is the other way around, this means the pipe is going straight forward and slightly going down, and then it makes that bend, so this means the actual filter is positioned behind the right air hole behind the mesh. This is kind of underneath the right headlight.
And the pipe now goes underneath the fusebox.
Hopefully it is clear as I described it, definately it hasn't got any trouble now with hot air.
The only thing I was wondering/worried about is water, will water touch the filter when driving in rain or threw a pool of water, since the filter is lower to the ground?
