Best Price for FSDs and Eibachs

Just wondering what the best price anyone has found for Koni FSDs and Eibach Pro springs are? Thats either the 156 or 156 GTA shocks and either the 156 2.4JTD/2.5V6 springs or the 156 GTA springs, as I'm not fussed what I get..

Re: Best Price for FSDs and Eibachs

This place are reasonably competitive ...

KONI / FSD Shock Absorbers / Alfa Romeo 156 / Euro Performance Car Parts
Eibach / Pro Kit Springs / Alfa Romeo 156 / Euro Performance Car Parts

... although I got mine from my local autofactors, the pro kit springs were a cheaper, but the FSD's were a bit more ... all in just short of 700 (although I think you can fit the GTA ones ...)

Just had a check and 130 was what I paid for mine (obviously the advantage that you don't have to pay postage ...)

Pro Kit springs £123.50 on Alfisti.net, but they don't sell the FSDs.

Ah right not a chain store then.. I'll have a ring round locally. I'm hoping Larkspeed will do me a deal though.

Can you also fit the GTA spec FSDs to a 1.9JTD16v? I know the engine is heavy on these cars so perhaps they will be ok? Crazy thing is I believe the GTA FSDs are cheaper than the non-GTA ones. Would be grateful if anyone can confirm this, cos I'm seriously thinking of upgrading to FSDs/Eibach prokit as well.

Yeah you can fit FSDs to any engine size, they are not rated to the engine weight of the car. Same shocks for a 1.6 TS as a 2.4 JTD.. GTA FSDs have different damping characteristics on the rear, the fronts are identical.

Have you checked out the Streetline suspension threads?,worth a bit of research before you fork out close on £700 without fitting.

EB Spares do the GTA FSDs for 460

Suspension Alfa Romeo 156

Good to see koni have taken on board criticisms of not having a GTA specific strut.

Thought that was without VAT (£80) though from E.B Spares ,then +£130 for springs =£670 ish plus postage.

Re: Best Price for FSDs and Eibachs

I'm wondering why the 156 GTA dampers should be so much cheaper than for the standard 156

Even 147 GTA and 3.2 GT are all the same price as standard cars

Supply and demand, economies of scale, something like that I'd imagine. Possibly a tactical decision by Koni as they might be thinking that people with 156 GTAs that have bought the non-GTA FSDs might upgrade them.. Who knows really

True, although I don't know why anyone would buy the normal 156 spec ones anyway, there is no difference to the actual fitment of the shocks to the car and only a slight difference on the rear damper characteristics. Probably not enough to notice I would be tempted to say..
