Hello, I am trying to find out some useful information about CR diesel timing, fueling and so and I figured here are smart people who may help me a bit
Google suggested me this forum many times so I decide to ask for help right here.
At begin I have to say my project is not related directly to Alfa but Toyota. I spent few years with reverse engineering Toyota Denso ECUs, we are developing custom SW/HW and we are doing all from scratch. The community support for Toyota ECU tuning practically does not exist because Toyota Denso ECUs were locked and encrypted for many years.
Anyway reverse engineering ECU is one thing and understanding of diesel engine is another. I need your help because I am not able to find similarity in injection timing between Toyota and "the rest of the world" manufacturers.
In general Toyota diesels (especially D-CAT 2.2 liters 130kw/400nm) has very poor fuel economy and dynamics and I guess the weird inj timing have something to do with this.
Please take a look onto stock SOI and EOI maps and let me know how this works, otherwise if it is possible to do it better.
SOI at cruise speeds are about 12'ATDC, EOI is 15-18' ATDC!
