How much boost for a hybrid garrett 1749MV
I have the Z19DTH 16V 1.9 150HP stock engine with a garrett 1749MV turbo, which is turned now into a hybrid with double pallets from a 2.5 bigger turbo. I'm trying now to remap it to gain some more power and I have a question. How much boost should I run with this? 1.8 is too much?
The original turbo started to make some noise after i did DPF OFF and stage 1 remap, and become more loudly in time. You could hear the turbo spool after 2000 rpm. The stage 1 remap worked with 1.7 bar, and i dont know if the turbo was old and started to go even before the remap and after it, it just started to go.
My question is, is 1.8 bar safe with 1749MV turbo? Somebody did this on their engine? I should expect a super short life spam for the turbo with 1.8 bar pressure?
