2.2JTS using 3.2V6 Throttle Body

Greetings..

Current ride is a 2.2JTS, tried a 3.2v6 TB on... acceleration and torque felt powerful, somewhat smooth and improved. Didnt do any remapping though, so after a far distance.. the car kicked into limp mode..with controlled throttle. Would just a remap and/or tuning works help with this issue?

Read somewhere in here about doing Bore & Stroke... these recommended?

Other mods done: Changed to S/Steel headers, Novitec exhaust. Kept the mid-pipe for now..

Thanks in advance

I don't know what you are hoping to gain by putting a bigger throttle on, the plenum is still standard size right? Can you get wild cams for the car?

The 2.2 is already a stroked version on the 1.9 motor, so stroking even more will not be advisable as it is very long already (86 x 94.6 mm).

There is a 2.4 GM motor using 88mm pistons and 98 stroke but I don't know if that crank will fit, maybe the pistons are similar enough to use in your block, but are you allowed to machine your engine block?

Increasing stroke tends to give more low end torque, increasing bore increases HP at the top, but you have to change your valves and/or cams to really get the benefit for the latter.

Read here about your engine: The JTS used the L61 GM block - the 2.4 I am referring to is an LE5 block (a bit further down)
