Question Your idea's on how to increase fuel pressure

Hi All

Ive upgraded the fuel pump but im only getting about 4bar max , im guessing this is because of the regulator fitted in the top of the pump housing .

So my question is what is the easiest way to get the system to make a little more pressure.

The thought i had is slightly restrict the fuel return just so it can generate a little more pressure but still having a healthy fuel return flow (done by cutting the fuel return hose and fitting a barbed hose joining bit with a smaller hole bore)

Your thoughts please

Thx

Fit a second pump in line with the first, but outside the tank. You'll need a seperate fuel pressure regulator aswell. The original pump will feed the other with 4 bar.

You'll need a return fuel hose aswell, I believe your current system is without return?

Your current system should be return-less, the other pipe from the tank is the vent, which goes to the evap solenoid..

You are both correct it is a none return system but does have a reverse pressure regulator so when it reaches the regulator pressure max it flows it back into the tank.

But i think i maybe ok as the injectors i will be using will be ok using 3.5 and 4 bar as the working specs for them are about 300 @3.5 bar and 420 @ 4.5 bar which should be feeding plenty of fuel @ 4bar

thanks for replies
