Stage 1 tune for Australian 159 2.4 JTDm Ti

Very happy with this;

https://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/attac...7&d=1493778908

Much more shove and overall, a better starting, idling, and running car.
Achieved with EGR and DPF delete, and super short cold air feed from fog light cowling into stock airbox fitted with K&N pod.
Bayside Performance Services in Cleveland, Queensland, Australia did the dyno and remapping work.

Next up, freer flowing rear exhaust boxes and a larger intercooler for a stage 2 tune.

Will probably call it quits there as stage 3 (new turbo, etc) is just going to be too pricey.

Torque numbers are very high, power numbers are very low.

600Nm at 3000rpm should equal to around 250HP, but your max power is just 217HP.

It is also very strange for the engine to reach peak power at 3200rpm and then the power drops.

This engine should reach peak power of close to 250HP at around 4000rpm.

Ok. Thanks.
What would cause this?
The tuner or is it a hardware related issue?

I'm looking at the graphs for other cars done (VW, Merc, BMW, Porsche, Renault, Audi, etc) at the same place and the overall shape of the graphs in many/most cases (some others do rise all the way to the end) is very similar with a trailing off towards the end of each run. I know nothing about tuning but this leads me to think that this might be done on purpose by the person programming in the new map (who cut his teeth at Porsche).

No?

Or, would an issue with the turbo/etc be raising its head here (a leak for example)?

The shop has only ever done one other JTDm 2.4 and admit to not really knowing the capacity/capability of the motor and Alfas in general.

Thanks (and genuinely interested in feedback).

No idea, but I think it is probably dyno calibration issue.

Power is Torque * Speed. And in your case this formula does not work.
So there is something strange going on on the dyno.

Ok, thanks.
I may have a chat to the workshop about it.

One thing for certain though, the car performs much better everywhere. So much more fun.
