External USB DAC on Android

Anyone got an external audio DAC working under Android?

I want to rig something to use a Samsung S6
with a radio/clock via a usb dock.

Supposedly this is supported since Android 5.x

Yes a proper USB DAC will work with an Android but not sure about a USB dock. Can you describe in more detail what you want to do?

I first thought about a Dragonfly but that uses a USB connection, which I guess is no good for you, so perhaps the HRT Streamer might be an option? I think it uses a micro USB as the input.

I've actually got an official Samsung USB dock
which has a 3.5mm audio out but the S6 currentlt
isn't routing the audio through it....

Quite like the Topping NX2 too ...

In the Apple world you could use either a digital dock into an optical or coax of your amp or a Camera kit which converts the Lightning connector into a USB female which then connects to any USB DAC. I have never seen a digital dock for an android but a mini to full USB converter should work with a DAC - version permitting.

Edit. I have 3 Topping amps but not the NX2

I've got a VX1 as my main amp attached to the NUC PC. Brilliant little bit of kit.

I'm surprised none of the big boys do low/mid priced DAC/AMP combos..

I'd suggest that the NAD D 3020 would fall in to that bracket.

Did see that when looking at the Toppings but slightly over budget.

I see the audophile BS is still strong even with USB:

For peace of mind I recommend don't penny pinch and go for https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004LR5L1Q?psc=1

I can definitely hear the difference when my digital 1s and 0s are in a sans-serif font
