Question Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone no longer syncs to Yahoo Mail, Error code 800C0000

It has worked for the last few years with no problem, but since last Wednesday week it won't sync.

I've tried deleting & adding the account to the phone again a few times, I've also rebooted the phone & changed my email password, nothing has helped.

Has anyone any ideas of how to fix this ? I can still access my account through the browser but obviously I don't get notifications for emails.

I don't consider replacing the phone a fix

Can you log into your "Yahoo Mail" with another mail application?

Get a Blackberry Priv.

Found this - Changed the incoming server IMAP number from 993 to 143 although it does refer to aol rather than yahoo. It may help?

Nokia Lumia error code 800C0000 - wont connect to aol email - webr2.com

I tried that earlier, it just gives a different error code.

I also tried changing the option for "download email from" from "7 days" to "anytime" as suggested elsewhere, that didn't work either.

Is your Nokia Lumia 800 running Windows Phone 7 or have you updated to WP8 or WP8.1 ? Try looking for a third party app for Yahoo. My Nokia Lumia broke because the battery expanded, after I used a battery pack charger thingy, and refused to charge... SA R 2300 to fix it, a new 625 is 2000 Rand...

I'm on 7.8 & the phone is up to date, or maybe that should be out of date. I had a quick look but couldn't find anything I trust.

Just a thought, have you tried another mail app? Do Yahoo have their own like on Android?

Windows Phone 7.8 are called legacy phones, no updates, very small percentage of wp 7x phones left. I think you should buy a Microsoft Lumia 535 or 640... Then you can get Windows 10 Mobile.

Try wiping the phone completely. It's a networking issue where the mail client can't find the server.

I had considered that but I've some audio files on the phone I'd rather not delete. I should be able to transfer them from the phone to a PC but for some reason they won't transfer via sync, SkyDrive or email :HEADBANG:
Plus there's a lot of work in putting everything back on the phone, I'd almost prefer to put it all on a new phone rather than rebuild this one.

Can't you just plug the phone into the PC and drag and drop??
