Combined gmail accounts

My email account has a slightly daft name, and since I'm going to be job hunting soon, I need one that's a little more professional.

But I'd really want the new one to sit 'within' my current email system somehow, so I don't have to check two accounts.

Can someone tell me how to do this?

Simply have one forward to the other.

I don't think there is strictly a way of 'combining' your addresses.

WOT Wobby ^^^ said.

Although I'm sure you can set up subset e-mails, but it's a faff. Just auto forward then log on to that account to reply.

If it's gmail you can connect the accounts (doesn't combine them though).

If you get a mail.com one, you can set it up to pull all the mails off your gmail one automatically.

Don't forward from one to other. This method is becoming increasingly less likely to work due to anti spam measures.
I haven't looked at gmail in detail recently but certainly in the Google Apps for Business control panel you can set up aliases. You may be able to do this with a freeby account as well.
An alias is set up on the server and maps "[email protected]" to your account address whatever that may be.

Thanks all. I've used the linking method, that should be sufficient for my needs. Setting them both up on my phone means that it warns me when I have unread messages from either account, so shouldn't miss any which is what I was concerned about.

It is bear related. That's the limit of the embarrassing nature of it.

Although I wish I'd gone with that cuddly bear one now.

As compelling as the e-mail nickname situation is, what's going on with your job that you need to find a new one? I thought you were well-treated where you are.

They've decided they don't want to have a site in this area any more, and I've decided that I don't want to leave this area. I've known it was coming for a couple of years, but still feels odd now it's so close.

Fingers crossed, there are some pretty good potential opportunities - and I certainly can't complain about the redundancy terms. Could be the best thing that's ever happened!

Sounds like you've got the right way of looking at the situation, so best of luck. Does your better half still work there as well?

That's right. We'll be walking out hand in hand at the end of April.

Cheers Tor. Jenny is brilliant at her job, so I have little worries for her, and there are good signs for me too. I'm a positive kind of person, so at the moment I'm thinking there's a decent chance we'll both be better off afterwards, and with AZ having given us a massive bonus for the privilege.
