Ssd

About to do my first SSD upgrade. Quick question though.

Is a windows 10 laptop, upgraded from 8.1. The new disk is larger than the original. My plan was clone the disk, put it in the laptop, not to it then extend the C drive. However, there are 2 lenovo partitions at the back of the drive.

Can I move these safely so I can extend the C drive in the middle of the drive and would I have to make an image on a third larger drive or is there some way to clone the drive but audio edit the partition sizes and positrons.

Cheers

its all fun until something falls off.

You should be able to use Norton Ghost or
a similar piece of software to clone and
resize partitions to your heart's content.

Cheers, I'm using macrium reflect. The default option moves the partitions to the exact same location.

A fresh start this morning and it looks like I was being a numpty and it can move partition positions. Drive is copying now.
