Hmmm Need you Techie' guys to explain?

Basically when I connect up WiFi in W10, I can see who in the local area are using what.
i.e. BT Hub various nos', Btwi with Fon, and a couple using Talk-talk.

This morning there was an extra which was: WSMWN 11G. which then disappeared fairly sharpish.

What's that all about guys, probably nothing a mere nincompoop like myself should be concerned about?

I did Google it, with no result. :

It might just have been someone using their mobile telephone as a mobile hotspot. Nothing to worry about.

MI5 Mobile assault team was one that appeared on my list a few times!

Thankfully never saw an Operation Yewtree wifi appear!

Interesting diagnosis chaps, I'll forget all about it then, and enjoy a Guinness with my steak and kidney casserole with homemade dumplings.

I need that sort of sustenance after another hectic, mind blowing session with her indoors and a blinkin' trolley doing the Lidles Run?

While we're at it Zed, you have set a password up on your home Wi-Fi, haven't you?

(To stop others getting access to it and doing nasty stuff. Apologies if I'm teaching your granny to suck eggs).

I am also confused..

WiFi is for the NON-Paranoid.. IF you worry, well don't broadcast your porn preferences over a 120M radius, Don't use a WiFi password that relates to any shape or form to ANYTHING on your social media, DO NOT use easy connect PIN services.. AND DEFIANTLY (pun insert word) DO NOT Torrent over it...

HEY! if they new what they were doing you wouldn't even get a sniff never mind advertising the SSID.

Seriously though, if you use WiFi, accept that your leaving the front door open. So don't be paranoid, the worst that will happen is your internet goes slow while you partake in some DDoS of a gold banking company for a ransom.

They ain't interested in you.

GCHQ (Bude) MI5 MI6 have enuff to do without having to track paranoid Alfa Owners. YOUR biggest worry is you ****ed off the 14 year old script kiddie down the road, they are the malicious *******s that ruin ya life for fun, respect the KID geek. he has the tools to truly f...k your life..

If you are paranoid... Double VPN, NO WiFi, Palemoon, Firepass. TOR. Yada Yada.. the list is endless.

And while I am at it, separate passwords for computer, mobile, forum, banking, personal please...

/RANT off

P.S. There is a reason we call BT the 'BIG TWISTERS'.

Some bloomin', fantastic, IT stuff blasted out there by Fizzer UK and a lot more beside?

Anyway, it was my very nice,(not the old moaner 'tother side : ) neighbour who was using his new bit of kit with 4G that only runs 3G so he says to stream stuff from that bit of kit to his wide screen telly.

What I forgot to mention earlier in my post was the fact that we lost iPlayer, and ITV Player, plus both laptop receptions when that WSMWN 11G appeared?

Thanks for all your time and tips guys, and chuckles too.
