Flash! AaaahAAAARG!

Google makes it official: Chrome will freeze Flash ads on sight from Sept 1 ? The Register

Good news given the certain PoS advert about a
certain UK furniture store that's been slowing my
AO browsing right down recently.

Ah, I am still on IE.

However, I did a bit of detective work and found this useful article about disabling add ons such as Flash: How to stop autoplay videos | PCWorld
Ironically, it's riddled with advertising videos.

I also found something that told me to turn ActiveX filtering back on, so I did - every little helps?

Amazon.co.uk Prime vids are now HTML5 instead of Silverlight or Flash and
I must say, so far, so good.

I'm very worried about Adobe Flash on my laptop as it hasn't crashed recently. Most unsettling.
