New Blackberry Anyone...?

BlackBerry 'Venice' Android Smartphone Image Leaked | NDTV Gadgets

If it has DualSIM and the physical keyboard, I'll be purchasing my first ever Blackberry.

Don't hold your breath... Best chance is a bluetooth keyboard. The powers that build the hardware decided it was too expensive to include a physical keyboard and they can sell it as an accessory instead... I'm expecting a flip cover with keyboard one day... like the surface and ipad ones. Think the Playbook had one as well.

Grrr.

Using my old Xperia Mini Pro for a week
when the Asus went down in the US has
reconfirmed my need for a real keypad.

Why can't the market produce one modern
keyboard android phone. Dammit.

I was disappointed when I had to leave my old HTC 7 Pro with slide out keyboard for fully touch screen. It was a great bit of kit, felt like I had a mini laptop in my hand (though it wasn't light but not a major issue for me). I am surprised there isn't one out there at all, but maybe they would then realise people wanted them? Are there none of the random Chinese manufacturers doing them still?

I'm a big Blackberry fan and have always up until recently had the physical keyboard ones. I was given a Blackberry Z30, and thought as it was free I would give it a try. I have to say that I thought I would detest the touch screen keyboard, but in fact I have got on very well with it, and do not feel the need to go back to a physical keyboard. It is much better than the one on my wifes Apple i5, probably because the actual phone is bigger. I can type as fast and as accurate on it than I could on my previous Blackberry with physical keyboard.

Not dual sim though..!

Silver 156 GTA SW, Q2, Koni FSD's, Eibach springs and anti-roll bars, CDA induction, re-map, Wizard/Pud exhaust - fantastic!

For most stuff I've gotten very quick with the swiping on the keyboard, it's more if I want to type for extended periods (I'd use my phone to make notes during presentations and meetings) and that's the only time I miss it most.

If it turns out to be Dual SIM I'll buy a new one at full price SIM free.

Otherwise I'll wait until they give them away for $99

No dual SIM.

But possible worth a punt next year (when the prices drop) as a tablet/email device?

I'll be giving one a whirl, when the price comes down a bit. Love my Blackberry Z30 at the moment, and have managed to find ways to load the apps I need (Whatsapp, Spotify, good sat nav...and er that is all I need).

Once you get used to the strange swipes, swishes and side swipes you need to drive the Blackberry it really is very good. Also love the Blackberry Hub, where all texts, emails, calls, texts are in one place. I really would miss that if moved away from them.

I will be very very sad if they stop producing handsets. I really do think they are one of the best out there.

Blackberry doesn't do very well. Do the governments dislike the idea of more secure encrypted devices getting popular?
I remember mention of their use in civil disturbances to communicate plans amongst the troublemakers. If so its better if the Apple products provide easier snooping of their plans?
