Gaming laptop recommendations please

Hi All

I'm in the market for a new laptop, one capable of running modern games at decent speeds and resolutions (Fallout 4 is in the offing - must be able to run that ).

Ideally 15.6" screen, 8 gb ram or more and soemthing like a Nvidia gtx 970 or better. I'd like ssd or a hybrid for storage (512gb min), but not too bothered if standard sata. i7 processor or similar. Not too bothered about battery life or weight. Quiter and less hot is good.

Up til now I've had a selection of HPs, a toshiba, and a couple of Vaios. Sony don't seem to be in the laptop game anymore (and frankly the last vaio I bought wasn't very well built). Had a couple of Alienwares in the past and quite like them - still use my old Alienware 11x when I go away but its a bit too small and long in the tooth now.

Any recommendations in terms of manufacturers/brands/specs? My budget is c. 750 - 1250. Also, is it worth waiting till new mahcines are preloaded with win 10 or is upgrading from 8.1 working well?

Any advice welcome!

Mark

Win 10 comes with the latest version of direct x (12), I'm sure Fallout 4 will be optimised for this platform on windows 10.

You are welcome

I'm also looking forward to Fallout 4, on XBox.
