Portable speaker for car

I'm looking for options here - much as I love the sound of my Alfa there are times on long journeys when I would like to be able to plug my mp3 player in and listen to some music. What I don't want is a radio and speakers ( I only listen to R4 and 6Music so would need a DAB radio ) so would like something like an in car docking station or speaker that could be just put in the boot when I'm away from the car, anyone got any suggestions? - I'd need loud as old soft top Alfa's are noisy but don't want to spend huge amounts, seen many on amazon but no one really mentions how loud they go, got an opportunity to buy a Jambox Jawbone quite cheaply - what does anyone think - doesn't need to be bluetooth
Thanks
Sorry put this in the wrong section - have moved to ICE

This portable speaker has unbelievably good sound . We bought one a year ago for 600 but always used it wired to apple product despite AirPlay which was not as reliable . Returned it for refund and bought the newer version. They are now on sale ex-demo at 330 which is fantastic value. LifeStyle AV | Bang & Olufsen - BeoLit 12 Wireless Speaker - Yellow (Ex-Display).

This is a shop at our local shopping centre, sure they are nationwide.

They do a few lines in bluetooth speakers, they have them on in the shop, I've played with them and they seem ok, not hifi quality, but ok.

I'd recommend an alternative route from an additional speaker.
You could use an FM transmitter to stream music from your phone or similar, therefore uses the car stereo and speakers. They're small enough to take with you or hide.

I've got a Pure Highway DAB radio in the car that receives the digital radio and retransmits it on FM, again using the car speakers. It comes with kit to mount on the screen but I don't want it visible and have to hide it all the time. So, it's set up in the armrest storage (powered from the boot 12V socket), not visible apart from the little aerial on the back parcel shelf. I can change between 3 DAB stations without looking down.

If you have auxiliary input to your stereo, there might even be an easier solution.

Why not get a proper car stereo with a fake or
removable facia.

A portable stero speaker is never going to be
very audible in a car.

Especially the directional tweeter frequencies.

Thanks for the replies - I really want something that is removable and could be used elsewhere as well - I don't want to start cutting up my interior to fit speakers or leave anything in there worth nicking - not so much because of the value of the item but because of the damage that would be done - I found something on Amazon that sounds like it will do the job so I'll give that a try and if i don't like it I'll send it back

Let us know how it goes.

Seriously doubt anything will be up to the job of listening to voice audio in a car.
Unless you're parked up with the engine off.
