BBC: We'll give FREE subpar-Raspberry-Pis to a million Brit schoolkids • The Register


About time the Beeb got back into tech education.

This could pay dividends in 15-20 years from now.

Without the BBC and their computer programme in the 80s the UK would be
a technological backwater.

Agreed, this approach will actually show a purpose for the STEM subjects ... rather than just writing some (crappy) mobile app.

Hope this kind of thinking doesn't get destroyed in the new uk.gov plan to destroy the BBC.

Good old Beeb, the BBC computers were well used at my kids nursery school in the late 80"s.

Of course it will, how dare anything the BBC does, challenge the might of free-market forces (by use of the very privileged licence fee), which is always better, at all times?
