iPhone 4 to 6 migration problem.

My iPhone 4 finally died physically broken - no way to get data from it. I do backups to my computer via iTunes however and, luckily, the last one was two days ago - Happy Days.

So I went and got an iPhone 6, set it up and then plugged it into my computer via iTunes. Now then - I don't have automatic sync and it asked me if I wanted to backup from the last download (old phone). I chose that option.

Afterwards all of the photos, apps and music were there on the new phone but none of the texts. I had set up the relevant options on the 6 and new texts sent to me arrive ok.

My questions?

1) What did I do wrong?

2) Is there any way I can retrieve them?

Have you performed a sync after the restore? If you don't not all your content will be on the phone.

This may seem obvious but did you select your texts to be backed up to icloud on your iPhone 4?

If not they won't migrate.
