Crazed killer robots

A lot of talk recently (and previously) on the concern that technology could prove to be mankinds downfall, maybe successor.

What do people think?

In no attempt to make a point, here's a couple of nice videos.

Killer robots are non sensical meaning that it is equivalent to say "killer guns". It's the people behind the tools that decide how to use them.

Ok, I'm done with my bit of philosophy for today

Not so fast, Mr Foot!

If you program a drone to be fully autonomous and it goes on a killing
spree ....

It's not that far away.

That action of programming itself, given the obvious implication, is what I was referring to.

I'd be more worried about public transportation than private cars being messed with.

Does anyone remember the short story, also made into a short television play called "the Machine Stops"? If anything that is the way it would go. Society collapses as machines start to malfunction and there is no alternative to support vital actions.
