Is there a phone which wont get stuck

Within a year?

Ive had Samsung in the past, i had massive problems. My recent phone is an iPhone 5C. I said ill go for a change and buy an iPhone to see if its any better. I love the way you have to use the iPhone but its been a year now and this is working slow too, getting stuck and sometimes wont open an application i want

What is it with phones that last only for a year? I dont want to change every 12 months

iPhones work well normally. Perhaps it needs a iOS update?

Usually a power off/on sequence will sort it (hold down the top button for a few seconds, then slide to power off). Close all unused apps too. There's also an app called "Battery Doctor" which can clear out garbage and free up memory, helping to keep performance up to scratch. Those two tricks between them have kept my iPhone 4S working fine.

I just finished saving what i need. I am going to reset it now and hopefully it will work as quick as it was when i bought it new. If it still works slow then it means its the iOS and it needs a more powerful phone. Lets see what happens

I just got a new Nokia Lumia 735, pretty impressed with it, doesn't really say much when my old phone was an original Samsung Galxay!

well, my time with Lumia 920 is coming to the end, tomorrow upgrade window starts. I am heading for Lumia 930 (guy from Vodafone was pretty surprised when heard that I didn't want a NEW IPHONE!)

and no, over 2 years I didn't have a problem with the phone getting slow as Shant described.

agree with ARNovice - the 920 has been the most reliable phone I have had

I look forward to hearing your experiences with the 930. I bought the 920 sim free about 14months ago - Tesco were knocking them out at 200

Reset done, phone works better but still not as fast as it should. Another thing which makes me unhappy is that i cant upgrade to the newer iOS now (since yesterday) as it says i dont have enough storage. Its quite annoying having to delete things to update all the time.

Yes you can Just plug it into your computer and do the upgrade from iTunes. You don't need to delete anything that way

Another vote for the Lumia series. So far I've had an 800, a 925 and now an 830 (I test a lot of phones working in an IT department) and they've all been great.

Love my new 830, a very solid slab of kit

iTunes tells me I have to delete some stuff from my iPhone before it can update to iOS 8 so it's not quite that simple!

I've got the original Sony Xperia, now currently in version 3, it's been totally reliable over the last 18 months. And it's waterproof - to 1 meter or so.

How strange I'm on 8.1.3 and I always get the delete warning if I try to upgrade through wifi, but never if it goes through iTunes and my phone is just about to capacity (thanks to the memory downgrade Vodafone neglected to tell me about )

Shant, it's not hard doing the upgrade through iTunes, honestly.

If you're already on iOS 8 I guess it should update without problem, but I'm on iOS 7. I believe the issue is that the 7 - 8 update process itself requires more memory than iOS 8 and once the update's been done you can reload the deleted content. But that sounds like a faff and iOS 8 doesn't seem to offer anything important.

What version are you running Shant? Presumably iOS 7 if it's a year old. If I were you I'd stick with iOS 7 unless you've found a must-have in 8. Install battery doctor to clear out the rubbish and you should be fine.

I didn't have to do that Otto. It did the 7 to 8 upgrade without a problem.

Shant, just use the USB lead to connect your phone and the computer. iTunes should open up automatically for you. Now, I use a Mac, so my iTunes might look different to yours. This is what I do:

Click on the picture of your phone at the top and that takes you to a summary screen. Just click on 'update' and let it do it. It might take a while, up to an hour to update, don't panic!

I just loaded that Battery Doctor app - wow, it certainly shows just how battery hungry some apps are

PG! Don't show him that. Otherwise the SPAM slowdown app we had installed will get wiped!
