App Store Discontent

Is it just me or are app stores for mobiles so full of dross these days its almost impossible to find good apps?

Maybe the tests for apps should go beyond fullfilling some formulaic criteria and the app marketplaces should vet if the apps are actually quality software.

I do agree. The ease by which shoddy muck gets dumped in the stores is annoying.

Perhaps a "Recommended Apps" thread is called for?

I don't search the app stores at all these days. I find out the app I need beforehand and then go in specifically for that.

And to think that all I hear from some is how many apps their store contains. Quality and usefulness would be too subjective and also affect app income...

Oh we got it. We just felt a bit sorry for you and were too polite to say so.
