Alarm Clock set up on iPhone

The standard alarm clock only allows for picking a single song. As good as Achilles Last Stand is, I don't want to hear it every single morning.

I've tried using TuneIn radio, but I can't get the alarm within that to work at all.

So, can anyone suggest a good app or something? Either to allow me to wake up to the radio, or to a random selection from my music perhaps.

For that matter, I'm also after a decent dock which will give me better sound, charge the phone, and not take up too much space on the bedside cabinet.

If you get the dock then its alarm will wake up the iPhoney and play
whatever was last playing.

Does with my iPod Touchy/Philips Radio/Dock/Alarm.

If the dock itself has a built in alarm I assume?

So the Bose SoundDock systems would not work because (as far as I can see) they're just a charger and speaker system with no other abilities.

Yeah.

Check out Sony & Philips docks. They mostly have clocks.

Hmm. Would want one designed for the Lightning connector, rather than it being an afterthought.

There are definitely a few micro hifi systems that
seem worth a look over your standard clock/dock/radio.

I'd suggest Wakie but it's not on iOS yet, just Windows and Android... Then you could be woken by a phone call from a random stranger (I think of the opposite sex usually) from anywhere in the world... One of those "odd" apps Click highlighted.

The iPlayer Radio app has an alarm feature which wakes you up to your choice of BBC radio stations, only good if you like BBC radio however...

Don't you have a Squeezebox Touch? That will do it.

If the touch is in another room consider iPeng with in app player purchase coupled with something like http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00B...&pi=SX200_QL40

Intruiging. How would you mean that the Squeezebox be used?

It is in another room (lounge) and the usual music library it uses isn't left switched on (much as I keep meaning to look into a NAS and what it could do for me).

You would need your music library available. QNAP NAS has a Logitech Media Server plugin but they are a bit dearer than other NAS as the build quality is excellent.

The iPeng app allows you to control a Touch or other SB player from your phone. In addition there is an in app purchase that turns the phone into an SB player in its own right with all the LMS facilities available including Alarms.

With a proper LMS not the cut down one in a Touch and a few choice plugins you can listen to virtually anything on your alarm.

Look up "iPhone alarms" in the apps store, there seems to be plenty, they operate playlists, don't know if they play random though.

But most are free.
