Protonmail is a secured email service based in Swiss-land.

Anyone signed up?

Interesting. I use a TOR browser but I have mixed thoughts about it given that it is obviously used by criminals too.

Years ago, there was an anonimizer service based in Finland (IIRC) that would apparently strip all ID from an e-mail and forward it.

I suppose it needs a critical mass of your contacts to use it to be really effective.

But it does allow you to send email to non protonmail users
which show up as links to a password protected message
in their inbox.

I didn't realise that TOR was a US navy development.

Well let's be fair. The whole microelectronics industry is based on US
military spending in the 50s & 60s. Most of it can be traced back to Fairchild.

Interesting. Do I need to send encrypted email? Yes I can think of a scenario where it would be advisable to do so. I will investigate further.
