iOS 8 ... 9 ... etc

Looks like a fairly decent upgrade from the current iOS. Thoughts?

Just be able to scrape in with the iOS 8 update on my iPhone 4s.

It runs a bit slow with 7, but it is full of rubbish music and photos that need culling before the update.

Music and photos are just data and shouldn't affect the speed at all. This is assuming that Apple reserve sufficient of the iPhones disk for swap space. Perhaps they don't.

I'm still trying to make room on my 4S for the last update

I do know that the battery is crap on 7, so I'm going for better on 8 (please tell me it doubles battery life)

IOS7 killed the radio chip in my 4S (bluetooth & wifi)

I'd advise against upgrading., the hardware isn't good enough.

My 4 was fine. I like above had to remove stuff to install it. I only had the 8Gb model. I had the odd album on it and a few apps.
It was OK up until I sold it the other week.

Mine cooked the radio chip, it's very common, there are a LOT of threads on google about wifi greyed out.

It can be fixed but mines currently just running iPod duties in the car.

Running 4.2.1 on my 3GS here

At the end of the day the phone and the operating system within it do all I need....which is primarily to make calls and listen to music whether it be on my phone or via my radio app.

It still has over 4 GB (?) of memory so that'll do me, although I must admit to being somewhat paranoid about ever synching it with iTunes again for fear or it blowing up or something

That's been around since at least iOS6. I wonder if anyone has been geuninely stupid enough to do it?

I was on iOS 7 but with an iPhone 4, which was getting a bit creaky. So now I'm on iOS 8 with an iPhone 6. Hard to know what's changed with the phone, and what with the iOS to be honest.

PvZ2 doesn't work though.

That doesn't actually make any difference to me. The only person I'd want to share with is my wife, and we're under the same iTunes account, so we always have.

Bought one of those battery cases for mine. A bit weighty (it no longer stays on my rubber sticky dash pad ) but certainly helps keep me going

I'm not overly happy with iOS8 but no major battery issues so far (on 5S).
