I used to use VirginMedia until they started charging. I'm a bit disgusted as I upgraded it to the top tier to get unlimited backups. They were going to charge an extra £17 or so a month to back my data up.

I now use a pure backup solution from Amazon called Glacier. You pay for what you send and receive. When I first backed up my 200gb they billed me just over $5. Subsequently the monthly fee for changes has been around $3.

It is a backup solution and not cloud storage. This means that access to retrieve data isn't instant, it can take a few hours, but for me I backup my NAS box to a PC locally as well. This is used as an off site backup in case something happens to the house.

You can get clients for all kinds of things like Ubuntu. I just store my data on a NAS box and that has a backup client that backs changes up at 3am. I'm not worried about the individual PCs as they don't have data on them and can be rebuilt.

Just had a LG tablet and found if you sign into BOX using the installed app you get 50Gb storage free rather than 10. Works for LG phones too

Again, perfectly fine if you don't care where your data is stored or what rights you give up over it for a free service.

I miss Ubuntu 1. One of the better solutions. Think the free storage to entice people to subscribe for more isn't working. Ubuntu and sugarsync have both scrapped the free version.

I have a 50gb box.net account. Every now and then they do an offer to get 50gb free for life by signing up on a certain device.

No Linux client though.

Had a Google, current offer is for Xperia devices https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/art...-Promotion-FAQ

If you decide to go for it and can't get a loan of an Xperia pm me details, I can log in,upgrade your account, log out and you can change your password.
