We had that on one of our iPads last week . This provided a good rest from the children's gaming , but our daughter announced this morning that it was working again. Back to two machine minecraft with her brother . Oh joy !
Only change was when I tried installing a net gear booster and I switched this off .

Any change to the network? Ie the laptop or router?

Is there a button to enable and disable wifi? It's a common cause, if not 'forget' your home network and reconnect to it.

Someone hit the 'fn' (function) key followed by the F5, F8, F9 which is usually a Wifi toggle?

Some Toshiba's you can now turn the wireless and touchpads off by accidently pressing an F key even without holding down the 'fn' key
