pc to tv

my uncle has bt broadband and he's going to upgrade to infinity. they're going to put his router in his office upstairs but he's asked me is there a way he can watch btsport on his big tv in the lounge.
other than moving his pc to under the tv i'm unsure.

Chromecast? Not used it myself but it might do it.

BT Sport announces Chromecast partnership - BT

Chromecast

The only thing I will say is if the router is upstairs the wifi signal may be too weak to stream media at a decent quality.

I use wireless HDMI to connect PC to TV but your dad's setup
sounds like it's too far for the RF Keyboard I use to control the PC.

For the Chromecast Idea you can buy a couple of Ethernet-over-mains
plugs with one being another WiFi access point.

e.g.:

Ethernet over the mains is the way to go for this one.
