Still waiting for the start menu to make a reappearance, fence sitting, got a 8.1 laptop running at work, runs surprisingly well on a 5 yr old i3 vaio.

Quite like it to be fair, although the integration between the metro apps and the shell could be slicker, it still looks like a 3rd party app running on windows 7

Install crashed last night.

At least it's all clever enough to recover the old install and reset
itself with zero user intervention.

Added Asus driver patch and re-installed: Went through fine.





I glad the Start menu has gone.

It's an anachronism.

8.1 seems to have made some concessions to the "put it back as it was" lobby.

install server admin tools and see what happens to the programs area...
