For me it's a straight choice between Virgin cable 20mb broadband and Sky .75mb broadband.

I am with Virgin and I have never had a problem with them.

I don't need a phone line, so go for the cheapest broadband only deal.

Previously I was with Talk talk who really were bad...

I thought the conception of virgin was immaculate last time I dealt with them . As long as you deal with the uk call centre , in other words call in normal hours. They followed up and there was continuity of call staff .

Virgin let down.

Always opt for 'I want to leave virgin media' from the choices on the phone.
Always guarantees an English speaking operative who isn't speaking from a script.
I had a few problems following the installation, until I realised how to deal with them, it works.
For me at least
No problems with virgin other than weak wifi which is fixable.

BT here, wasn't impressed when my new modem failed the day after installation....what's worse is the length of time it took to get through to someone who knew what they were doing and then 3 days to send an engineer out to check the line, even though the modem wouldn't even power on.

That said second one is A-OK, enjoying the free BT Sports package and HD TV, 80mbs grotbroadband is good too, but not as different as you'd think when browsing.

BT for me - I live in a small village but we have fibre optics - I am 1/3 of a mile away from the cabinet so am connected by copper wire - still get 35 mbs (or whatever it is) rather than 75 but video HD streaming is faultless.

No, it's very poor broken English which is hard to understand over the phone.
But the complaints departments would appear to be uk based

The postal address for the complaints department, which I've had to use a couple of times, is in Swansea.

Well at least it's not got a L postcode.

I mean, you just couldn't trust them with your bank details then, could you?

Eh, eh!?
