HMRC corporation tax software and windows ****** 8

Spent a lot of yesterday trying to complete our company tax return on line at the HMRC web site. You have to download a piece of PDF software via the web site and then it automatically opens and away you go. I've done it several times over the last few years on my old laptop (Windows 7).

So now I try and do it on my new laptop, and whatever I do I can't get it to work. Downloaded the latest Adobe reader software as well, and it still didn't work. After 3 hours of trying, swearing, frustration I gave up and fired up the old laptop and 1/2 hour later its all done.

Anyone know how to fix.....?? However says Windows 8 is good is wrong...!

Silver 156 GTA SW, Q2, Koni FSD's, Eibach springs and anti-roll bars, CDA induction, re-map, Wizard/Pud exhaust - fantastic!

it probably wont be suitable for the tax form, Adobe PDFs can have macro code embedded that can only be read and actioned by reader.

Alfabeat, does the PDF application open in the browser plugin or in an adobe reader desktop instance?

Have you seen this document?

By default Win8 will open PDF with the built-in Metro doc reader, not Adobe.

You have to specifically open the file with the desktop Adobe reader.

I will say that I've never had a problem with Foxit. I use it for customer quotes etc, seems to do everything Adobe can...
