What do I need?

I have a relatively new computer on windows 7. I downloaded adobe flash player as I was unable to open you tube clips and now I can.
However, if I go to say a Govt web site and try to download forms, I get a little box saying "internet explorer stopped working" etc.(It sometimes happens with other document downloads too).
What do I need to do to get these forms up please?

Best bet is to stop using Internet Explorer and use Chrome https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/browser/ or Firefox https://download.mozilla.org/?produc...win&lang=en-GB

+1 for FF. Few here in the office have started to lose love with Chrome.

Crazycarb, if you don't want to clutter your computer up with lots of browsers it could well be a problem with the adobe pdf plugin if the forms are in pdf format, try right clicking and selecting save as then open them natively in reader rather than the plugin for explorer.

Thanks all, I didn't really want to start downloading multiple browsers. I'll try your idea first, if no luck, I'll try an alternative browser.

Also run Windows update to make sure you have all the latest IE patches and also possibly download the latest IE which may not be on the PC. Windows update will show you any newer ones.

Do you have an office package installed? IE could be trying to open a word document but having issues launching an appropriate program (even though it should ask you if it can't find one).

If you don't have ms office. OpenOffice and LibrieOffice are good free alternatives.
