Mounted the upstairs tv today.

I put it on the wall. The bracket is a beautiful bit of engineering and luckily it looks like I located the wall studs ! I wish I could work out how to conceal the cables behind the wall now.
The apple machine has rotated the image 90 degrees!

Concealing the cables shouldn't be too difficult with a drill, a saw. and some wire.

If its close to the corner of the room you can get some corner trunking which can be painted the same colour as the walls and becomes almost invisible

Yes, I think a combination of that
and a cabinet covering the sockets could be good.
It looks like the cables are supporting it at the moment!

I did a cabinet underneath/cable down the void in the wall combo.

Mounted mine last weekend, i have a white wall so i used the d trunking, looks good.

I'm wondering about channeling the wires into the plasterboard or putting them and the DVD into the void behind the wall . Ideally , the tv should just be like a picture on the wall.

Got the wires concealed behind the stud wall and the socket camouflaged with a shelf .
